Creating an intimate and transportive atmosphere - the music takes listeners to another world, creating moments of reprieve, beauty, trance-like pulsatile loops and flickers of the Mediterranean.
Greek-inspired elements - drawing upon Lauren’s heritage, a Greek influence can be heard in the music, explored through rhythm, timbre and modes creating a unique blend of Greek traditional music reformed by a contemporary jazz sound.
Balancing groove and free-form flow - the compositions are relatively structured however incorporate “break-away” improvised sections that highlight each musicians’ individual voice, bringing something new to the listener each time they are performed.
Lyrical melodies and lush harmony - the intention of the compositions is to invite listeners into a sonic landscape of beauty and sensitivity, leaving melodies and rhythms lingering in the mind well after the performance is over.

Lauren Tsamouras is a pianist, composer and improviser based in Warrang/Sydney. She leads and composes for her contemporary jazz/improvised music project Another Green World who released their debut album “Mytera" in March 2023. In 2021, she was nominated for the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award and in 2025 she became the recipient for the award to fund the recording of her second Another Green World album, set to be completed in 2026. She was also featured as an ABC Jazz Artist in Residence in early 2025, presenting original solo piano works alongside a selection of jazz repertoire, broadcast on the radio and social media.
Another Green World will be playing a fresh set of compositions in the lead up to their second album recording later this year. Featuring Lauren Tsamouras (pno), Hilary Geddes (gtr), Brendan Clark (bass) and Ashley Stoneham (dr), the compositions draw on elements of Greek traditional music as a way for Lauren to explore her Greek heritage and what it means to her to be Greek-Australian. The set is an amalgamation of Greek-inspired music and Lauren's distinct compositional style that blends beautiful melodies, free improvisation and pulsatile structure.
